Today is officially the longest day of the year. I never understood that as a kid because I didn’t understand how we could make the clock have less time! Now I know it is all about how high the sun is before dark!
I’m in my 4th month of Invisalign and on my 10th tray. I thought this would be a good time to explain how it all works! Invisalign® takes a modern approach to straightening teeth, using a custom-made series of aligners created for each person. These aligner trays are made of smooth, comfortable and virtually invisible plastic that you wear over your teeth. Wearing the aligners will gradually and gently shift your teeth into place, based on the exact movements Dr. Kristoff plans out for you. There are no metal brackets to attach and no wires to tighten. You just pop in a new set of aligners approximately ten days to two weeks, until your treatment is complete. You’ll achieve a great smile with little interference in your daily life. The best part about the whole process is that most people won’t even know you’re straightening your teeth. It is perfect for many adults!
Nobody ever knows I have Invisalign trays in my mouth. They are lightweight clear plastic. Much lighter and smoother than a mouth guard that I used to wear at night. The only time I take them out is when I eat. It has also been great at keeping me from snacking all day because every time I eat I take them out and brush my teeth after!
There is a little discomfort at first, but not much. If I take ibuprofen I wouldn’t even notice it. Now I forget I have them except for eating!
If you are curious about it or even want to know what they look like or feel like, please call our office at 317-846-3436. We can offer a complimentary consultation and show you first hand what they can do for you. I love that my teeth are getting straighter each week, and know that after starting in February, by Christmas I’ll be all finished! What a great smile I will have! Hope to see you in the office soon!
